On April 4th, the Habitat HomeStore team began a series of luncheons for local businesses to report the progress of the re-sale stores as a generator of funds for building more Nashville Habitat homes. The first luncheon was held at Hillwood Country Club, thanks to generous underwriting from Sprintz Furniture chairman Charles Sprintz. Guests included local business owners Ray Tarkington (Mister T's Patio Furniture), Perry Housman (Nashville Carpet Center), Bob Rothemeyer (Restoration Hardware), and Kevin Huggart (Norvell & Wallace Lumber Company). Habitat homeowner Elizabeth Burton attended to share her experience and gratitude, as she completed part of the sweat equity requirements for her home by working at the HomeStore. The meeting was also devoted to promoting options for local businesses to market their products and services by partnering with the HomeStores, whether through donations of merchandise or through referrals to the HomeStores' deconstruction team. Deconstruction has become a major source of inventory for the Habitat HomeStores, as families redesign, build additions onto or redecorate their homes.
