First home built in 2009 is dedicated to Phill Robinson

March 30, 2009

On Sunday, March 29, friends and family of Phill Robinson celebrated his life at a dedication ceremony for the home they built for Connie Copeland and her family in his memory this spring.

It has been nine months since Phill passed away July 29, 2008, but the co-workers, families and volunteers he touched in his work as marketing director at Nashville Area Habitat will never forget his selfless acts of kindness. Phill was a gentle, loving man with a great sense of humor and an amazing capacity for caring and serving.

Family members who helped build this home for Connie Copeland include his mother, Marianne, his step-father, James Merryfield, his sister, Eugenia Love Robinson, and his niece, Emily Eugenia Torre. Among the friends who volunteered were many returned Peace Corps volunteers who knew Phill from his work as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Kenya from 2000 to 2002 or from his work to organize a group for Returned Peace Corps Volunteers in Nashville.
