Volunteers help Habitat get a head-start on fall build with wall panel builds

Four groups of volunteers held events this summer to build wall panels for future Nashville Area Habitat homes. On two different days in July volunteers from Immanuel Baptist Church and InStar Services each built 90 wall panels for a total of four future Nashville Habitat homes. Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management and Ford Motor Credit hosted wall builds on August 13 and 26, respectively, building a total of more than 300 wall panels for seven homes. Many thanks to these groups for giving us a head-start on the home builds scheduled for September and October in Timberwood!

On July 11, 60 volunteers from Immanuel Baptist Church built 90 wall panels for two future Nashville Area Habitat homes

On July 27, 50 InStar volunteers built enough walls for two homes to be built this fall in Timberwood. InStar is a disaster reclamation and construction company with 14 branches on the East Coast and in the Southeast and Texas.

On August 13, volunteers from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management built enough walls for five Habitat homes. This is the third year that Owen has sponsored a wall build, and more than 300 volunteers attended. On August 26,100 Ford Motor Credit employees built wall panels for two Habitat homes. On September 11, Ford Motor volunteers built fly rafters and support beams for the fall build for Ford’s Action Day, which took place in five U.S. locations.
