Volunteer Opportunities

ReStore – General Volunteer: If you like to assist customers, stock shelves and have a knack for displaying merchandise, Habitat’s retail outlet has a place for you. Volunteer opportunities are available Monday through Saturday, from 9 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Volunteer Now

ReStore – Cashier: The ReStore is currently looking for volunteers to serve as cashiers at both locations. After training, volunteers would process sales/returns, address customer questions, and answer phones as needed. Volunteers would ideally be able to work at least one four-hour shift per week for up to three months. If you are interested in learning more, please email Matt Hawkins at mhawkins@habitatnashville.org.

ReStore – Merchandiser: The ReStore - 8th Ave. S. is looking for a volunteer to help set up floor displays and vignettes, research pricing on new donations, and merchandise the store for the best customer appeal. Volunteers would ideally be able to work at least one four-hour shift per week for up to three months. If you are interested in learning more, please email Matt Hawkins at mhawkins@habitatnashville.org.

ReStore – Donation Scheduler: The ReStore is currently looking for volunteers to serve as a donation scheduler. This volunteer would help answer the ReStore donation hotline, return messages left by clients wanting to donate, and help schedule donation pick up times for the ReStore donation truck. Volunteers would ideally be able to work at least one four-hour shift per week for up to three months. If you are interested in learning more, please email Matt Hawkins at mhawkins@habitatnashville.org.

HomeWORKS for KIDS: Family Services offers several opportunities for volunteers to interact and work with the children of partner families. HomeWORKS classes are held Tuesday and Thursday nights, from 5:30 – 7 p.m. and are led by a Habitat staff person. Volunteers need to arrive at 5 p.m. and stay until 7 p.m. Volunteer Now

New Home Construction: This opportunity is best for groups and no specific construction skills are required. Volunteers on the construction site work from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays (occasionally builds are held on Thursdays/Fridays or Fridays/Saturdays, depending upon the build schedule). Tools are provided by Habitat. We build rain or shine! If you like to join our next build, please add yourself to our Build Contact List.

SOS:  Habitat’s Supervisors on Site (SOS) provide leadership and hands-on-training for Habitat volunteers. Each SOS is trained in power tool and building safety procedures, construction skills, and leadership. Habitat’s SOSs are the spirit of the volunteer corps and the backbone of the volunteer experience. If you are interested in learning more, please email Matt Hawkins at mhawkins@habitatnashville.org.

Budget Coach: Habitat’s Budget Coaches work one-on-one with future Habitat homeowners for 10 hours over 12 weeks as they go through Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University and other financial lessons. It is a unique volunteer opportunity that allows volunteers to build meaningful relationships with families, helping the families build the solid financial foundation that will make them confident and stable homeowners. All Budget Coaches are screened and trained. If you are interested in learning more, please email Amanda Frick at africk@habitatnashville.org or (615) 942-1262. A sample schedule can be seen here.
