Volunteers
A Habitat build day runs from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. primarily on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. No construction experience is required and Habitat provides all of the necessary tools. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old (16 and 17 year olds must be chaperoned by an adult), wear closed-toe shoes, and come dressed and ready to work.
Construction Volunteer: Habitat welcomes group and individual volunteers who want to work in support of affordable homeownership in our community. Working on the build site with your organization is a great team building experience, promotes camaraderie, and has many positive benefits. Construction experience is not required. To be added to our Habitat construction volunteer email list, click here and fill out the build contact form. Build site opportunities are limited and we will only contact possible volunteers when there is availability.
Construction Supervisor On Site (SOS): Are you an individual who likes to work with your hands and can lead large groups? Do you have good interpersonal skills, are safety conscious, and are willing to learn Habitat’s construction techniques? If so, you may be interested in volunteering as a SOS. No building experience is necessary, but power tool competency is a must. Habitat’s SOS lead volunteers in daily construction tasks and help provide those volunteers a safe and rewarding experience. If interested, please contact Emily Napier (enapier@habitatnashville.org) for more details.
